Oil and gas equipment

Build a new direction inside a large industrial company

An oil and gas equipment manufacturer with a team of more than 400 people. The task was not to sell more of the existing range, but to identify and launch a new growth direction.

Starting point

I joined as head of a business direction and deputy CEO for development, reporting directly to the owner. The company had a strong engineering and manufacturing base and relationships with major oil and gas customers.

Business challenge

Build and launch a new business direction for the oil and gas market.

market need→direction selection→product development→production→field trials→certification→contracts

What I did

The work began with analysis of major oil and gas customers and the search for an opportunity where the company’s capabilities could produce the strongest commercial result.

A product was then defined, development organised, technical documentation and production technology prepared. After production launch, the product went through field trials, certification and approval procedures.

In parallel I worked commercially with Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Rosneft and ADNOC.

Result

After technical validation and qualification, the direction moved into full commercial operation, with production contracted roughly one year ahead.

planned revenue over 14 months, with planned margin above 60%

Work inside the company

The launch required work beyond the commercial function. I contributed to the company development programme, analysed financial and production metrics and introduced KPIs and dashboards to connect the direction’s plans with actual production capacity and business economics.

What was built

The project covered the full cycle of building a new industrial direction, from market opportunity and product through manufacturing, field trials, certification and contracts.
